INVESTMENT SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM AND CULTURE

Within the CBC program Bulgaria-Serbia, IPP program, thanks to successful partnership with the Bulgarian Municipality Bobov Dol (Republic of Bulgaria), City Municipality of Palilula – Nis, in the next 18 months will realize the project entitled “Cooperation for sustainable development of cultural tourism in the municipalities of Bobov Dol and Palilula (Coul Tour). The value of the project is 581,982 Euros and City Municipality of Palilula, as p partner in the project belongs to 179,353 Euros for arranging the memorial park Bubanj and other infrastructure. Bulgarian Municipality Bobov Dol, which  is lead parner on this project will work on arranging a public park area of 140 hectares. On this occasion, in Palilula Municipality was held the first press conference. About the program of activities and objectives of the project spoke: Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, president of City Municipality of Palilula, Milos Stojadinovic, manager of the project in CM Palilula as and guest from the Municipality Bobov Dol – Republic of Bulgaria, Greti Alekseva, president of Municipality Bobov Dol (Bulgaria); Nikolai Ignatov, deputy of the president of Municipality and Anton Iliev, chief of Department of Tourism and Information of Municipality of Bobov Dol.

The overall objective of the project “Cooperation for sustainable development of cultural tourism in the municipalities Bobov Dol and Palilula (Coul Tour), according to president Novakovic is to promote development of cultural tourism in cross – border region through improvement and modernization of infrastructure related to the cultural and historical heritage in the municipalities of Bobov Dol and Palilula and increase cooperation and exchange of programs in culture of two municipalities.

Implementation of this project, which is one of 44 approved projects, within the cross – border cooperation Bulgaria – Serbia in the IPP program, began the first of August 2011 in Sofia, within official ceremony of awarding the contract for funding.
